Muskeg River Oil Sands Project

Albian Sands Energy Inc. a Shell, Chevron and Western Oil Sands partnership developed the Muskeg River Oil Sands Project (Lease 13) located 70 km north of Fort McMurray, Alberta. The project produces 150,000 BPCD of bitumen, which is pumped to a new upgrader adjacent to the existing Scotford refinery. It mines and processes 95 million tonnes per annum of oil sands. Muskeg River Contractors provided detailed engineering and procurement services. "Oil Sands Constructors" (OSC) provided the direct hire construction services for the process plant and infrastructure of the project. OSC was a joint venture partnership of Fluor Constructors, PCL Industrial Constructors Inc. and Agra-Simons.
